BCIS Class Agenda 1/14 & 1/15
January 13, 2009I. Warm-up:Write one paragraph on how you would use an organization chart in a business setting. Give examples
II. Organization Chart: Students are working on a self-designed organization chart. They can work on this after they finish their warm up. I allow students to work in small groups and to problem solve since this is a new project for them as long as they remain on task and work quietly. All completed work should be e-mailed to me at the appropriate e-mail address as well as a printed copy left in the in-basket on the table.
III. Poster Contest—Please see the attached sheets that are labeled The Skills Employers Want. Give students a copy (they must return the copy). Students will design a poster table or graphic design including all of the information on this sheet. Students will save and print out their poster design and we will judge them on Friday. We will reproduce the winning poster in color and enlarge it to place on the classroom wall.
Note: Both of these activities should take the entire class period. If any student finishes they can begin reading in their text book Lesson 1 on Excel on pg 172. They can work through the exercises.
